  • Conventional firefly luciferase reporter systems require expensive substrates and cell lysis procedures, resulting in high costs and complex workflows for high-throughput screening.
  • The DSCE system integrates membrane-tethered and secreted enzyme forms, enabling direct interaction with substrates on the cell surface and in the culture supernatant, eliminating the need for cell lysis and specialized or costly instrumentation.
  • With a long half-life, high stability, and high sensitivity, DSCE can be detected using widely compatible ELISA readers, significantly reducing detection costs and lowering technical barriers.

 Technology Introduction 

Reporter gene assays are crucial for high-throughput screening and signaling studies, but firefly luciferase assays are limited by the high cost. Our team has developed the Dual-Structural Chromogenic Enzyme (DSCE) reporter system, featuring membrane-tethered and secreted enzyme forms. This system enables direct interaction with substrates on the cell surface and supernatant, eliminating the need for cell lysis and expensive substrates. DSCE offers low cost, high sensitivity, long half-life, and easy operation. It can be detected using a widely compatible ELISA reader, significantly reducing drug screening costs and enhancing drug development efficiency.
