 Pain Points Solved

After a routine dental root canal treatment, due to significant damage to the tooth structure, dentists typically need to take a traditional first root post impression during the patient's first visit. This impression is then given to a dental technician to prepare the root post using casting techniques before being sent back to the clinic. At the patient's second visit, the returned root post is cemented to the root using traditional cement, and after reshaping, a second crown impression is taken. This impression is then given to a dental technician to fabricate the crown before it is sent back to the clinic. By the patient's third visit, the crown can be cemented and fitted, thus preserving and restoring tooth function and enhancing overall mechanical strength. However, traditional dental post systems are typically bonded to the root canal only with adhesive. Over time, with wear and tear from occlusion, this often leads to delamination, loosening, and even the risk of accidental swallowing of the post. Furthermore, traditional dental procedures require dentists to take two impressions and three follow-up appointments in the dental chair, which is quite time-consuming and inefficient in terms of materials.

 Technology Introduction

This innovative invention proposes a novel dental post-crown composite design for tooth restoration after root canal treatment. The post is designed in a screw-like shape, while the crown is designed as a prefabricated kit shape based on various tooth morphological standards. This allows clinicians to directly select the most suitable post-coronation composite based on different tooth positions. The post-coronation composite, along with the screw and adhesive, is placed and bonded into the root canal. After the initial appointment for post-coronation composite bonding, the dental prosthesis (crown) can be prepared immediately, and an impression can be taken and given to the dental technician for crown fabrication. After the dental technician completes the prosthesis preparation and returns it, the dentist can quickly recall the patient for bonding, and the prosthesis can be delivered and fitted at the second appointment. This innovative post-coronation composite truly provides patients and dentists with a faster and more efficient treatment procedure, reducing appointment time and the number of follow-up visits. It also reduces waiting time and lowers the risk of bone fracture during the treatment process.

 Application Examples

After dental root canal treatment, the use of this patented medical consumable can preserve residual tooth structure, reduce the chance of tooth extraction, and provide reinforcement of tooth structure by supporting the crown and threaded root post, thereby completing the fabrication of dentures (crowns).
