﹤Biotech & Biomed Innovation﹥Medical Inorganic Carrier with Localized Release and Long-Acting Effects
Kaohsiung Medical University / Prof. Chi-Jen Shih
Pain Points Solved
- Conventional oral and skin care products have short durations of effectiveness and require frequent application, resulting in limited long-term benefits.
- Active ingredients are easily degraded or inactivated by environmental factors or saliva, leading to rapid loss of efficacy.
- Most commercial products lack material technologies that combine long-lasting controlled release with proven safety.
- This technology enables stable and controllable release of active ingredients for over 28 days, reducing application frequency while enhancing therapeutic stability and effectiveness.
Technology Introduction
Our team provides a medical inorganic carrier with localized release and long-lasting effects, capable of controlling the release of active ingredients over an extended period. It ensures stable and controllable release, suitable for human oral care products as well as multifunctional applications in pet oral and skin care.
Benefits
- The material can control the release of active ingredients for more than 28 days.
- Patented manufacturing process enhances the feasibility of large-scale production.
- Certified by GLP laboratories to be non-irritating to oral mucosa and non-sensitizing to skin.
Opportunities
- Oral Care Products: Applicable to toothpaste, mouthwash, denture adhesives, and denture cleaners, effectively reducing dental plaque and oral odors while extending the duration of action.
- Pet Care: Suitable for pet oral sprays, gels, and toothpaste, helping maintain oral health, reducing tartar, and alleviating bad breath. It can also be used in pet skincare products, such as ointments or sprays, providing long-lasting protective effects.

Application Examples
- Human Oral Care: Applicable to toothpaste, mouthwash, and denture adhesives, enabling sustained release of antibacterial or deodorizing agents to reduce dental plaque formation and oral malodor.
- Pet Care: Suitable for pet toothpaste, oral sprays, or gels to provide long-lasting inhibition of oral bacteria, reduce tartar buildup, and alleviate bad breath. It can also be incorporated into pet skin care products, such as ointments or sprays, offering prolonged anti-inflammatory and protective effects.
