Pain Points Solved
With the promotion of the electric vehicle (EV) industry, the number of EV batteries will grow rapidly, making the subsequent retirement and decommissioning of batteries a significant issue. Taking electric scooters as an example, if their market share continues to grow to 70%, the total battery capacity will exceed 25GWh. Assuming a battery replacement every 5 years, 5GWh of electric scooter batteries will be replaced annually. As EV battery production is expected to increase significantly in the future, we should actively consider how to strengthen the reuse of retired EV batteries, develop EV battery recycling technologies, establish recycling systems, and build a battery circular economy industry chain.
Retired batteries can be integrated into energy storage systems for reuse, increasing battery utilization rates. Therefore, if retired EV batteries can be efficiently classified and tested, constructing distributed retired-battery energy storage systems will effectively leverage the residual value of these batteries. In addition to reducing the operating costs of energy storage systems, this can create a battery circular economy and establish business models, assisting the government in promoting energy transition policies and creating a win-win situation.
Technology Introduction
Construct a Retired Battery Circular Application Cloud:
Maximize the reuse value of retired batteries, assist in establishing a battery industry circular economy, and cooperate with government energy transition policies.
Develop Retired Battery Detection and Classification Technology:
Construct battery state of health (SOH) estimation methods to classify and screen retired batteries rapidly; simultaneously establish battery history data, recording inspection information and battery information, beneficial for subsequent battery management and big data analysis usage.
Construct Distributed Retired Battery Energy Storage Systems:
Develop distributed energy storage aggregation scheduling technology, performing optimized economic dispatch applications based on power load conditions, electricity market rates, contract capacities, and demand response programs.
Battery Circular Application Business Model:
Link retired battery recycling mechanisms and construct a retired battery circular economy chain.
